Aggressive yet flexible
Technical brushes with stranded wire are the perfect combination of aggressive brushing and flexibility. In this special wire construction, several corrugated wires are stranded together. This allows them to work effectively and aggressively like a braided brush, while remaining flexible like a wavy brush, resulting in an excellent surface finish and increased service life.
Brushes with stranded-wire trim are especially robust and resilient and are therefore ideal for demanding applications.
Advantages:
- More aggressive brushing effect as compared to conventional unbraided brushes due to the special wire arrangement, which provides additional support.
- Perfect for complex shapes and difficult-to-reach places since the stranded wire is very flexible due to the many small wires.
- Ideal for demanding applications due to the long service life and high load capacity of the individual wires.
The various trim materials
Steel wire (ST)
- Proprietary PFERD TOOLS wire with high tensile strength and bending fatigue strength.
- Ensures long service life, even with extreme brush applications.
- Temperature-resistant: up to 300 °C
Brass-plated steel wire (STM)
- Proprietary PFERD TOOLS wire with high tensile strength and bending fatigue strength.
- Ensures long service life, even with extreme brush applications.
- Temperature-resistant: up to 300 °C
Stainless steel wire (INOX)
- wire quality 1.4310 (V2A): Corrosion-resistant; does not leave any corrosive residues on the workpiece.
- Used with low rotational speeds, compared to steel wire.
- PFERD TOOLS brushes with INOX trim are generally degreased.
- Temperature-resistant: up to 450 °C
